Not veterinary advice
Everything here is general information and personal experience, written by a cat owner, not a veterinarian, and not reviewed by one. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for examination. Never delay veterinary care because of something you read here. If you think your cat may be blocked, contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately.
The literary, sometimes comic tone is never an invitation to take the medical information less seriously. Emergency instructions are always set out separately, in plain language.
The live feed
Provided as is, and often unavailable. It runs on consumer hardware in a private home. No uptime is promised. The absence of a feed says nothing about any animal’s health.
You may watch it and link to it. You may not rebroadcast, systematically record or commercially exploit it without permission. Ask; the answer is often yes.
Email alerts
Free and best-effort, with no guarantee of delivery, timing or accuracy. They report motion at one litter box. They are not a health monitoring service, they don’t monitor your animal, and they must not be relied on for any decision about any animal’s care. Unsubscribe anytime; we may stop sending them anytime.
Content and brand
The text, images, drawings, video, code and design are ours unless stated otherwise. Quote a reasonable extract with a link back. Republishing whole articles, or using the material to train a commercial AI model, needs written permission.
The name “Is Nigel Peeing?” and the drawings of Nigel may be used in editorial coverage as described in The Kit. Other uses, including merchandise, need permission.
The typefaces are published under the SIL Open Font License by their designers; hls.js is used under its license. Neither is ours.
If you believe something here infringes your copyright, email us with enough detail to find it, and we’ll look promptly.
Advertising and links
Any ads are chosen by the ad network, not us, and are not endorsements. Advertisers never influence editorial; see the editorial policy. We link to journals, veterinary organizations and documentation we don’t control and aren’t responsible for.
Liability
The site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for loss or damage from using the site, relying on its content, or any interruption of the feed or alerts. Some places don’t allow certain exclusions; where so, they don’t apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Changes and law
These terms may change; the date above will change with them. Continuing to use the site means you accept the change. They are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
